struggling to find the servo position!

hello folks

i have attached my servo to the model but i dont know if the servo needs to + or - for left or right

for(pos = 170; pos < 180; pos += 1) ???
for(pos = 160; pos>= 0; pos -= 1) ???

is there any code that will return the servo position? ie:
the answer im after is the servo is currently at position 0 or 180 so i know which way its working?
