Stuck beginner- LCD screens

Hi,

I’ve only started playing around with the Arduino yesterday and I was following tutorials on LCDs after playing around with LEDs.

I’ve entered the code:

#include <LiquidCrystal.h>

LiquidCrystal lcd(12, 11, 5, 4, 3, 2);

void setup() {
lcd.begin(16,2);
lcd.print(“Hello, World!”);

}
void loop(){

}

and whenever I upload any sketch it would only show:
Sketch uses 1662 bytes (5%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variable use 59 bytes (2%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1989 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes

and nothing would be displayed on the LCD screen. Whenever I clicked on the Serial Monitor nothing appears as well

Most LCDs have a contrast adjustment. See if that needs to be changed. Beyond that we would need you to show how you have the LCD connected to the Arduino.

None of your code writes anything to Serial so that's to be expected. See: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Reference/Serial

kaori21: Whenever I clicked on the Serial Monitor nothing appears as well

That is because you haven't used the Serial class at all.
