Suggestions for re-programable wrist wearable for personal timing

I'm making an IR beam break timer to train my dogs in agility.

The device that sets up the WiFi network is shown above. Internal components are a ESP8266 D1 mini and a 4 digit, 7-segment display

and a WiFi beam break detector sends a UDP message to the controller/display when the IF beam is broken and restored. The controller/display and the beam break sector use the same ESP8266 D1 mini.

I noticed that some reprogrammable wristwatches used these same components I was using (including an SH11106 display controller and D1 mini and wearable version

Now I'd like to reprogram a watch to have the same functionality as my mockup so I'm looking for suggestions about which watch to convert.

I don't need any functionality that comes with the watch. I only need to support becoming a WiFi controller. It must support Arduino create/Editor. I only need a single button to support reset and an off/on button

I would like to know people's experience in reprogramming wrist watches

Been wanting to get one of these to check it out..
ESP Watch
No idea how good or bad they are but seeing your post reminded me of them..

good luck.. ~q

No customer reviews. I'll bet the battery life is poor.

A few years ago I bought one of the TI ez430 Chronos programmable wristwatches, which used a built-in radio for program upload. It was fun, but after about 3 uploads, the CR2032 battery was exhausted.

I actually own one of these LILYGO, it uses an ESP32 as opposed to a ESP8266 or a 8266 D1 Mini. Since those are all related products I was going to make it work for me, but when I looked at it, there were so many great apps on it, I didn’t want to waste it. I’m thinking a Dstike Deauther watch.
