Suggestions from an IDE 2 newbie

I have been using IDE 1.x for several years now and just last week, started using IDE 2.x. There were a few things that took getting used to and a few things that seem less than intuitive or convenient than they could be. The requests below are a summary of the things I noticed or would like to see as a newbie on the new IDE.

Please consider the following requests for changes/additions.

  • Please add right click comment/uncomment in the editor like IDE 1.x
  • Provide an option to clear the serial monitor on reset (when uploading)
  • Having “Edit->Find” as a menu item and “Find in Files” as a magnifying glass might be more intuitive and easier to find by newbie’s if they were both menu items. It took a while to realize the magnifier was the find in files. This change would also be consistent with MS’s Visual Code.
  • The status messages, “Compiling Sketch”, “Done Compiling”, “Uploading”, and “Done Uploading” all cover up part of the Serial monitor output at the bottom. Those status messages would be much less intrusive if they were left aligned on the very bottom status line where “Ln x , Col x” are.
  • It would be nice to have an easy way to change the font color, size, or type within the theme. For example, I like the Light theme, but the font for comments and the serial monitor output appears to be some dim level of gray. I would like to change those to be much closer to black, or even bold. My 76 year old eyes would very much appreciate that ability.

Thank you in advance for considering these.

Thanks for your suggestions @PickyBiker!
