Suggestions on ESP32S3 for Arduino IDE?

Hi all.
tested ESP32S3 a little, seems big difference as ESP32 dev module, does it compatible? or need any special library?
Thanks
Adam

have a look at comparison table for ESP8266/ESP32/ESP32-S2/ESP32-S3/ESP32-C3/ESP32-C6
the main difference is the ESP32-S3 does not support Bluetooth Classic only WiFi and BLE

Here is a comparison table directly from Espressiv. There are many enhancements compared to the ESP32, but also a few limitations.
The ESP32S3 is supported by the V2.x ESP32 Board manager.

Depends what you want to do ... I think the libraries that are included in the ESP32 board manager V2 will run on ESP32S3 too.

You have to adjust the board-manager to a ESP32-S3-board

no. no big differencies. Only small differencies.

It is always the same:
If you have any particular problem post the complete sketch
post the compiler-log

Depends what you need... E.g. the ESP32S3 has native USB, while the ESP32 has not. Also the ESP32 has a DAC, while the ESP32S3 has not. And there are more fundamental differences. Depending on your needs that may be big differences.

@shanren :

I have a question:

What is the reason that you are asking only very short questions?

What would happen if you take the time to ask

  • in full sentences ?
  • write a DETAILED description of what you want?

would your head explode?
would your keyboard wear out too fast?

can you answer this question?
At least with some short keywords?

Thanks.
I guess ESP32S3's native USB maybe the reason, I did selected S3 from board-manager and tested it, one obvious shortcoming is the S3 will lost USB connection with IDE as long as reset thus lost the output printing.
Or maybe cause of it is the board of MaTouch_esp32_s3_round? I tested other ESP32S3 much better.
no code post, because no error coming out from IDE.

@StefanL38
I have a question:

What is the reason that you ALWAYS answering only very bullshit answer?

What would happen if you take the time to answer
. useful information
. write a DETAILED description of what you really known

why the .cc forum hired an undeveloped AI like you?

I don't think you understand this forum. The helpers are practically all volunteers who provide support in their free time. Nobody is hired by the forum. And of course everyone has their own way of helping.
So you should be a bit more polite to the helpers.

I may not know the forum very well, but I known what you mentioned here.
did you check more than this topic before you said "polite" ?
am I polite or not is based on what that AI's long term behavior, he ALWAYS personal attack on me!

Yes this is true. In the past I was using hard words. Today my responses evolved to be not that harsch anymore. Still a part of my responses are questioning your communication-style.

I will answer your question in detail below

From your very short questions I am UNABLE to write much useful information

Based on your very short questions a detailed description would be a 100 pages long tutorial
from A to Z trying to cover that details that you left out by NOT DETAILING your question.

The forum didn't hired me and I am very sure they never will.
It is the opposite: in the past I was banned for using too harsch words.

In my opinion your communication-style is still not ideally like described in the
"how to get the best out of this forum-tutorial"
Your communication-style is somehow deviating from this ideal.

Well you can go on with the same way of posting.

Though my recommendation is:
if you want better helping answers
if you want solving your problems faster
don't post so fast.
re-read your own postings to

  • check if they are easy to understand
  • check if all important details are included

= Write longer use more words
use google translate
