Does the supply voltage source for Arduino Mega 2560 default to USB while USB cable is present? If so, is there a way to override that default?

I appreciate the reply, but if information about supply voltage options was clearly stated in the datasheet, I would not have posted here.
You need to look at the MEGA2560 schematic to see.
My analogue electronics is fairly useless, but I think, looking at the schematic, the USB VCC is over-ridden if you were to apply external power via the barrel socket.
As @markd833 pointed it does not.
