I'm working for the first time with arduino and I'm doing a project and need some help choosing specific sensors for the work that I do, I'll tell you one idea I have: make a team to measure me the electric intensity and I indicate where peak voltage or short circuit is generated in any building.

If you want to prevent a short circuit, you can maybe put a fuse in that circuit. The Arduino could read if the current increases. The analog inputs can only accept so much amperage, but you can search on Amazon for a voltage or amperage sensor to plug into the Arduino.
