I'm trying to locate a suitable surface mount crystal for the Atmega328 and there's a huge number of options out there and I can't really see much difference between them (other than brand)!
Would this work:
with 2 22pF surface mount ceramic caps?
Are there any parameters I should be looking out for (other than 16MHz)?

That will work just fine.Perhaps another feature you may search is the size.The cristal should be near as possible of the microcontroller XT pins so space could be an important parameter.
Pretty much any crystal should work if its load capacitance is around 20pF - so long as its fundamental mode.
You pay more for better frequency accuracy and better "cut" (which affects temperature dependence of
frequency) I think.

@ MarkT, You are spot on in the comments, Yes more stable and accurate crystals are more money and very much depend on the "Cut" of the blank.
