My setup is a Mega with CNC v3. shield and TMC2208 drivers. The jumpers are set to 1/16. Seems to work well.
The problem is single stepping with a push button gives a “coasting forward” or “rocking back” motion. If the foward button is pushed several times, the motion seems to relax forward after each push, maybe ½ step.
If the backward button is pushed after a forward motion, the motion seems to rock back towards the forward direction after stopping.
The motor runs quitely, with no heating, but I did leave the current setting alone, which is probably 0.5A for my 1A rated motor. Don’t see any lack of power.
Any ideas about the bounding/rebounding motion? Could it be not enough current to brake the motor?
