swiches

hi there i would like to know if its possible to ha key have 4 key switches and a number key bap to work together

basically you have to turn all 4 within 3 seconds or so witch can then power the key pad where i can enter a 6 digit pin witch can then power a relay until the key switches are turned off

but if all the switches were NOT turned on at the same time or within 3 seconds or so system will need a restart to work again and would be nice to have like an emergency witch when pushed it re-locks the system in a seance (basically when the button is pushed it will unpower the relay and require a restart to try and work again) i would also like a failsafe feature were the system will not start unless all

switches are off if you need any more info pleas ask

by the way i am new to arduino so i dont know a lot i know some of the basics but not alot

Yes it prolly can be done...but a simpler way might be to use two (two if you think you need the redundancy of security) universal remote garage door key pad openers....the first would power the second...touch code to enter.....those pads "time out" on there own..... and some have a panic feature as well as other features....that you could adapt to your needs..... just a suggestion.

Honestly your scenario sounds a bit childish...aren't you all going to be standing next to each other anyway....you can't just agree???

But..yes..the arduino as sufficient inputs to accommodate 5 + 1 inputs...and you can set time limits for all that to happen...with a time out feature.

define your 5 key (switch)inputs
define your keypad input

assign them to pins

and write the code accordingly with wait states for input

and then a time out default

I personally am too new at this to write code off the top of my head ...but maybe someone will step up.

If not you can research similar sketches and modify it to your needs.

I would say you would prolly trigger the event with the #1 key input

You cant say, but then you say "explosive"?
Glad you're not in charge of any real secrets.

Guy Fawkes?

Hi,
Is this refering to the fireworks controller here?

http://forum.arduino.cc/index.php?topic=421290.msg2902418#msg2902418

The 4 keys and keypad code is for OH&S, to ensure all present at control site when you activate the fireworks?

Tom...

haven't looked at that fireworks sketch but it sounds like just what your looking...just add another input

This thread is worth following - just to see how it ends.
Possibly with a large unexpected bang!

or a drone strike.

I am looking forward to reading accounts of the testing of this device.

Controlling detonators/igniters safely will require some attention to detail...

Now's a good time to start.

"the reson i need 4 key and 1 key pad is because the are 5 pepole in my group and we would like to all to agree before turning our project on unfortunately i cant say what it is "

This sentence alone makes me think 'your group' would be a risk with a box of matches, let alone explosives. Perhaps you should start with something less exciting. I agree with the comment above... this sounds like an awfully childish approach to a potentially dangerous project.

Perhaps you can build a spaceship in the living room from cardboard cartons first?

Yes, I was being flippant, but your original post - and the later explanations don't inspire confidence in your ability to deliver a well engineered, safe and reliable solution.
Your basic premise seems flawed, as you have team members that have to agree before flicking switches and typing a PIN code.
In my mind, those agreements would have been addressed long before you arrived at the range, and you don't mention physical security of the controller. What's to stop member (A) impatiently simply putting a 9V battery across the detonator wires between the control box and test site?

Either a deeper (well expressed) explanation and project outline accompanied by what you have done already
(we appreciate it's top secret, so perhaps a public forum isn't the place to do your development) - otherwise you will be back exactly where you are right now.

If we write code and help blindly, we could just as easily be contributing to a terrorist activity as a science experiment.

if you are going to leave comments like the then dont cement at all it is not nice you are basically saying i am incapable of my projects i was hoping for positive comments to help me with this project but instead i am not getting any help only insults and negative cements we was hoping for help so we can link this project with anther project we have already done and if it keeps every one quiet project we would like this for is because we are doing several experiments on how explosives of different weights effects the ground in yeas to come the i will not say any more then that but if all i get is negative comments i will just delete this post it feels like i am a red flag in front of a bull

This guy clearly is not a native English speaker, so maybe he lives in a country where doing stupid things isn't going to harm anyone important.
