Sorry, I thought this was clear.
The point is the 555 needs to be stopped in a state where the LED is off, and that depends on how its
wired up. Give the circuit diagram so this can be determined, or at least explain whether the 555 out
pin should be high or low to turn the LED off...
What voltage is the 555 running from?
