Switching voltage regulator Arduino Yún and a servo

I was powering my arduino Yún with a switching voltage regulator (MC34063) and I plugged a servo in, to see, if I was able to supply the servo from the yún. I uploaded the example program sweep, and as the servo started moving, the Yún's lights began to flash, but the servo kept rotating, so the arduino side was well powered, while the linux side was not. After a couple of rotations all the lights went out (even the green 'on'). Now I can't get them on.

I guess I fried the Yún. Altough I'm not sure why. Can I do anything to get my Yún alive, or is it surely damaged? If yes, what might have caused the damage? Is it stupid to plug the servo in the same power supply?

post pictures of your wiring/diagram…

Not sure of your wiring, but powering a servo from a board can possinly damage the board. The below is a typical way to seperately power a servo.
