System time Stamp

I am running an experiment where I need to know the system time of my computer when the program starts running. There are other programs running on my computer that are using the computer’s internal clock and I need to know when my program is activated in terms of my computer’s internal clock.

Look up the Dallas Real Time Clocks on this forum and the website - DS1307

What software are you running on the computer?
A VB program? C#? Perl? C? etc…

I assume you just want to know how to get the equivalent of millis() on the computer to record the start time.

Right now i just have the arduino environment running, the other programs are in java and I know that doesn’t cross over. do I need to get a c or c++ environment to find the computers clock time or is there a method in arduino to do that?
