I am planning of doing a project using TCS3200 color sensor. Can I use this sensor for detecting the colour violet accurately? And can i use this sensor as a trigger? i was planning like when violent colour is detected, it should activate the relay. Please help me out 
These sensors are very sensitive to the lighting conditions, so you will very carefully need to manage the distance of the sensor to the object being detected and the consistency of how it is lit up. Anything more that 1-2cm distance probably will not work reliably.

Can I use this sensor as a trigger? I am planning like a LED should glow when the colour is detected.
The TCS3200 is just a sensor. A program on a computer can interpret the sensor output, and decide to take some action.
