I have a flexiforce sensor 1lb to be connected to arduino mega to detect pills. I connected the flexiforce sensor with 1M ohm resistor based on the circuit that is available online. However, when I placed a small container with 2 pills, the sensor is unable to detect that there is a pressure applied. The sensor responded when a certain amount of force is applied.
May I know what should be done to the circuit in order to detect the pressure applied by 2 pills?
What range of forces can your flexiforce sensor sense?
Can you give us a link to the datasheet of the sensor?
What is the mass of the pills? Surely they are only a fraction of a gram?
Post a schematic of your circuit. There are a number of circuits "available online."
Is it the recommended circuit shown in this link at the manufacturer's website?
Or just a 1M ohm resistor to Vcc?
What sort of trouble-shooting have you done? What does your multimeter tell you the resistance of the sensor is with no load, 2 pills+container, and the max load you want to sense? What does your multimeter tell you about the voltage going into the mega with those loads? What voltage do you expect to read at those loads, and why?
Is your circuit's impedance in the recommended range for the mega's ADC?
