temp control and monitor complete newbie

Hi all I am a complete newbie to Arduino. and would like some help. I am making a 3D printer (Prusa) and I am going to build the hotbed as below. I thought I would control and monitor the bed with an Aruino Uno as a start to learn ing more about the Aruino. Can any one help with software ideas to run this project.

Probably want to look up PID (proportional/integral/differential) control and search for other Arduino thermostat projects...

Thanks Mark I will look into PID. As I said I am just starting with Arduino and am waiting for the Uno to be delivered.
