Temp sensor

I purchased this temp sensor.
I googled about how to use it and I saw some had mentioned to use a 4.7k resistor between GND and Signal wires. Is that a must?

I think YES.
But you can find it out by testing with/without the resistor.

Mightbe also depending on the distance between the sensor’s planned operational location and your Arduino.

A definite NO. The resistor goes between power and signal, and that is the must.
