The kegerator is an often diy temperature control unit for beer. sometimes to aid in the brewing process, and sometimes just to keep finished beer cold.
I'm adapting one for plant propagation, I'm working on humidity control.
I have 2 sht11 parrallax modules, and I have observed some interesting results. Both work fine on breadboard by themselves, but hooking them up with over 3 feet of wire I could only get one to reliable work. I used a patch shield so I could use regular ethernet cable as a interconnect. At the end of that patch shield I was able to solder on a dip socket and then just plug in the sht11 module. I was able to use some of the unused pins for an analog temp probe as well. It does seem that one of the sht11 will work with longer cable lengths and one will not. I have also tried it with and without the recommended pulldown on the clock line.
