I have a 2.4 TFT touch shield - 9341 chip. If I use the Adafruit_TFTLCD library -it works great. the key was on tft.begin, sending the chip type.
the problem is - I want to do some cool sensor displays, and all the fun stuff seems to be based on Adafruit_ILI9341_AS. When I run any program with that library, its the good old white screen. I've messed with the line:
Why not post a link to the actual display that you own?
I am not aware of any Adafruit_ILI9341_AS library.
There has always been an Adafruit_ILI9341 library which accepts SPI controllers.
The Adafruit_TFTLCD library uses an 8-bit parallel (or 16-bit parallel) interface.
Hi, the library you mention was written quite a long time ago to add extra fonts to the Adafruit library and make it run faster. Things have moved on since then and the latest is here and is now called TFT_ILI9341, this works with an SPI interface, it has even better performance.
There are various TFT shields about and they have different pin setups (some are 8 bit parallel, others are SPI), so as David says we need to know exactly which display you are using. Also it would be useful if post a copy of a sketch that works OK with the Adafruit library and your display as this will tell us what the correct settings are.
ok - I have not seen that library yet. something new to look at. the library I mentioned again is Adafriit_ILI9341_AS in case I typo'd.
ok - dumb Q - but how do I actually ID this board? I google this cheep 2.4 tft, and the images all look the same - red color, reset button on front, etc. I've looked at the chips and pin out on the back, but not really seen an "ah ha!" this is my board kind of thing.
Take a picture of your board (front and back), we may be able to recognise it. Post a sketch that does owrk with the Adafruit library as that will give us a clue as to what actually works.
ok - I installed the library you mentioned - same deal as the others - it wants CS, DC and RST pins to run. pic of back of my board attached - what I am doing is I see a pin labeled LCD_CS on my display, and I know when its plugged into my uno, it will be in pin 3. so I say CS is pin 3. problem, I dont know which pin is DC (data command?). I've tried a bunch.
This is the part of the code from TFTLCD lib that works - #include <SPFD5408_Adafruit_GFX.h> // Core graphics library #include <SPFD5408_Adafruit_TFTLCD.h> // Hardware-specific library #include <SPFD5408_TouchScreen.h> // Touch library
#define LCD_CS A3 // Chip Select goes to Analog 3 #define LCD_CD A2 // Command/Data goes to Analog 2 #define LCD_WR A1 // LCD Write goes to Analog 1 #define LCD_RD A0 // LCD Read goes to Analog 0
tft.begin(0x9341); // SDFP5408 <-- this runs in setup - seems important...
that library you attached runs like a champ, and has more functions than my current one. so...I move up one notch in the world of unsupported libraries
seriously - thx. next time I wont buy the cheapest TFT - this should work for my application.
David Prentice has a library called Mcufriend_kbv that builds upon the Adafruit_GFX library and will work with your display, it will probably run faster too.
