Thanks to all the volunteers keeping this site going

I’ve seen many of the same folks online sharing their time, knowledge and experience on this forum. As far as I know it’s just the shared interests and desire to help that keep them going.

I wanted to thank all you guys, I’ve learned from many of you and I’ve shared the pains and frustrations of trying to help with lack of information struggling to help someone.

For those demanding and answer right now and demanding they do the work, just remember your help is coming from people who are volunteers that love and enjoy the hobby like many of you.

Thanks again to all you guys, you guys make the community great!

You're welcome

seriously I don't know how you guys are patient with some of the questions and the approach people use.

I can't speak for anyone else but:

  • I have an adult autistic nephew who cannot live without care. If he were to find his way to this site then what he would post would be like some of the nonsense on here. I always think someone posting nonsense might be like my nephew.
  • My dad was infinitely patent with everyone; I try to be like my dad.
  • Sometimes I don't answer because I know my answer will show my irritation.
  • Sometimes my irritation shows.
  • Sometimes I managed to delete or edit those answers in time.
  • Sometimes not.

While you can't delete the first post (entirely), you can delete answers.

Just as long as no-one quotes you first. :grinning:

@wolframore, thank you for your kind words.

...R

Most help forums have a core of wonderful people who do it for nothing more than a love of the thing they support.

In my case its the $5 zillion a week in Arduino money or the occasional thanks...
Ok maybe the latter.

I am with BSB on this

I enjoy helping people but when they don't help themselves by reading the sticky posts and searching for answers it does annoy me

Answering a recent thread which included code not in code tags, I provided my standard link to the sticky giving advice on posting code. The OP replied that he was sorry, but he had not been aware of the sticky and he included a new version of his code still not in code tags

Almost unbelievable

My personal peeve is when I get crappy drawings that are incomplete and more confusing than anything. Then you go back and forth because they didn’t include it on their drawing.

What do you mean by that?

it means that us nerds are a little special and we don't always use our words correctly...

Anyway... Thank you everyone...
I'm always amazed by the time that so many people give here to help others...
I'm also amazed by the patience...

What do you mean by that?

Some posts are utter nonsense, I am sure you have seen them, or if not keep reading you soon will. When I see them I remind myself that the loosely resemble what my nephew writes. My nephew cannot help his condition. Maybe the people who post nonsense on this site have a problem like my nephew, I have no way to know. I give them the benefit of the doubt.

I really think that we have a special breed that's not always well versed in using words... I'm a little special like that at times...
