The best motor drivers

Hi ! I am building a 4 motor car with nrf24l01 module to control it. I want to choose a budget motor drive, but I don't know which ones are the best. For example, i know that the classic L298N is energy inefficient and I am looking after something efficient. What are the best options. Thanks and have a nice day !

Pololu has the best collection, and they support their products.

Polulu has prices like 12 euros

Pololu sells high quality modern products. The L298 is antique junk.

Skip your next cup or two of cappuccino and you should be able to afford a Pololu motor driver.

They are worth it. Tech support, available documentation and tutorials make it so. There may be cheaper alternatives, but one gets what one pays for.

What are the specifications of your motors? Please post data sheets. Without that data, there is no answering the question.

What price is FUN?
I've probably spent Thousands (USD) on this stupid but addicting hobby.

12 euros is almost the price for the car kit so it doesn't justify it's price IN my project

Literally anything EXCEPT ULN2003 or L298 !

I was thinking at the mx1508

What is the voltage of the motor power supply?

Look for a driver that is rated for the power supply voltage and handle the stall current of the motor. Stall current is drawn, briefly, every time that the motor starts.

That looks good for your application if the motor supply voltage is 2V to 10V. Per this users guide, it has MOSFET output so should be pretty efficient. And it should handle the motor stall current.

Each motor is rated at 3V, but I think I will power everything with a 9v battery or 4xAA batteries so it should handle the current preatty well

Not this one, I hope.

Smoke alarm batteries do not have the current capacity to be of that much use. Combine being relatively useless with the cost and they just do not belong.

This kind of and then I want to upgrade it to an acumulator but first I will use 4xAA batteries so I don't have to convert the power for the board

Are you going to power the Arduino board with the 4 AA pack?

How will the battery pack connect to the Arduino? Please post a schematic.

Which Arduino board?

It's a Nano

You could reuse the high quality motor driver in a much better quality robot.

You cannot directly connect a 6V battery pack to a Nano. 6V is too much for the 5V input and not enough for Vin or the power plug. A silicon rectifier diode (1N100x) in series between the battery + out and the Nano 5V will drop the 6V to a safe voltage.

Thanks ! I will look forward into that
