The following is a video powered by a product I designed called The Listening Car, now sold by Jameco. The video combines it with my Listening Tree and is controlled by an UNO. The combination can drive hundreds of watts of lights in response to sound in its vicinity. The video shows a home version of the system. I'll put the same kind of system in a car and make a video of it as soon as things warm up a little. In that system, the LED light strips will be mounted under the car:
The Listening Car is not limited to lights. It can also drive motors -- up to more than 1 horspower total whan all 4 device channels are used.
The following, "Some Ideas On Using The Listening Car" shows how the system used in the video was put together and presents other ideas about how to use the system, including connecting a system directly to amplifier outputs and using it with motors: http://www.jameco.com/Jameco/Products/ProdDS/2199551idea.pdf
I'm new here, so I'm not sure how to answer individual posts (someone educate me, please), but to Paul__B who said,
"Hmmm. What's that curious prop to the left of the screen?
Looks like something out of mid-last-century science fiction ..."
The props are, from left to right:
Teac A-3340S 4 track recorder that I bought used in the 70s, I think and you are right - I've seen them in some scifi stuff
Under it is a reel of pro audio tape I used in a studio with an Ampex 440 4 track recorder in the 60s
Next to that is a reel-to-reel of "The Buddy Holly Story" (I grew up in Lubbock and have returned -- it's a requirement here)
Nest is a Dual 1218 turntable I got in the 70s.
The record is Linda Ronstadt's "Heart Like a Wheel" which has on it "Your'e No Good", the song in the video. The audio was sent through a McIntosh MC225 and then to Advent speakers, all from the 60s and 70s. Sadly, the whole thing was recorded on a $100 camera which does neither the audio nor visual justice.
The mike is a Behringer B-2 that I use at the church.
Joe - as far as I am aware you cannot answer individual posts / posters as the thread is sequential, so I just put the posters name and then the message / reply or whatever, because sometimes there have been some other replies in between the two. Hey now I'm confusing myself but I'm sure you get the jist
