The new Arduino Cloud CLI is already available

Arduino has released today a new command line tool to manage your Arduino Cloud. The Arduino Cloud CLI empowers users to access the major features of Arduino IoT Cloud from a terminal. It provides a way to execute scripted operations on Arduino Cloud, and satisfy use cases like massive device provisioning.

With the new Cloud CLI, the Arduino IoT Cloud has a full suite of tools available for every kind of user, including the web interface, the mobile app, the REST API and the recently published CLI.

This is great news for automation.

However I already found a few issues.

The CLI does not work well with "entry" plan users. See Arduino-cloud-cli issues too many requests per second and runs into rate-limit · Issue #126 · arduino/arduino-cloud-cli · GitHub

It also has limitations for webhook, see webhook set for thing not exported into json/yaml and no arduino-cloud-cli to set webhook · Issue #127 · arduino/arduino-cloud-cli · GitHub

hi, @bodobolero

thank you for the prompt feedback, we're happy to see that users welcome this new tool.

I cannot respond regarding the entry plans limits, but I can add a bit of technical context to what you perceive as a limit, in the specific webhooks support.

This tool is still in its 0.1.0 version, which means it's our first public release but it's not a 1.0 version yet.
We have worked on this for quite a few months and the current release is going to help us find out what users want, need, like or hate about it.

The points you highlight are incredibly valuable to us, and we'll make sure to better document, support and enhance the product.

I personally can't wait to get more feedback like this

Thank you

Hi Ubi, thank you for your positive attitude towards early user feedback. With that attitude I am confident you will evolve the CLI into a great and useful tool.

My pleasure, mate

We really care about what we make and how it can make our users' experience better.
Not always easy, but we strive towards that

How about fixing some of the existing issues with the IOT cloud services basic functions like wireless upload and reliability....

Hi @PeteS,

Thanks for your feedback. We are always trying to improve the platform, so user feedback is more than welcome and a key point for offering the best experience. So, if you can be more specific about the issues you have detected, that would be really helpful!

Thanks!
