Merhaba. Sinop, Turkey, '74 - '75. I know at most 6 Turkish words.

You would have done well if you had posted "There are no Turkish forums so Turks can post here". The thread title looks like you are being a clown.

It may be that not enough Turks post here to require a Turkish translator, so Turks don't come here, so not enough Turks post here to require a Turkish translator...

if you understand both English and Turkish, try passing your Turkish messages above through a translating site to see how weird they come out in English. if non technical phrases get garbled going through a translator, highly technical answers don't have a chance.

Assuming "translator" was intended to refer to a forum category (?), I think Geek_Emeritus's evaluation is accurate. In order to make a dedicated language category worthwhile, there must be a certain "critical mass" of people who wish to use that language here on the forum. Otherwise, use of the category would actually be harmful to the forum users, since they will be less likely to get any response.

The current approach is that posts in languages which do not have a dedicated category are allowed in the English language categories. However, it is strongly recommended that you instead use an auto-translation service such as Google Translate to translate your post to English before posting.

The auto-translate services usually do an amazingly good job (I use them every day for moderating posts written in non-English languages), but you should keep in mind that some information can be lost or become unclear in the translation. For this reason, it is especially important to clearly and thoroughly describe your question. Keep in mind that code and schematics are universal languages, so make sure to always provide those when applicable. Error and warning messages also tend to be pretty clear to experienced helpers even when they contain words in another language.

I do not think it is a good idea to have a single "mega-topic" to aggregate all Turkish language posts, as is proposed here. A dedicated topic should be created for each distinct subject matter, and in the appropriate forum category, regardless of which language that topic is written in.

In Re translation services: pick a song. I chose "For what it's worth" by Buffalo Springfield. Translate it into another language I chose Indonesian.then translate it back, and marvel at the fact that we get along as well as we do.
