Thermal printing new incoming emails

Hello,
would really need some help with trying to use a mini thermal printer from Adafruit to print every email received to a specific email.

I am using an arduino yun.

I see 4 parts, maybe I am wrong :
-user sends email
-a php script on a web servor inputs the email content to a Mysql database
-a python script on the Linux cheap gets new entries to the database and sends to arduino via serial
-arduino sends text to printer

Does it sound clear ?
Thank you in advance !
Elliot

Which of those parts do you already have working?

Why, why, why would you want to do this?

a python script on the Linux cheap gets new entries to the database and sends to arduino via serial

You can just print from the Linux PC to USB...

Following that line of thought a Raspberry PI may be a better choice since the Arduino isn't even needed. It's cheaper than the yun and it's capabilities are much more appropriate for the situation. My question though is why such a device is even necessary? Maybe a led to function as a notification and display the email's subject line on an simple LCD display but why waste money and paper on this? I mean it's email, wasn't the idea behind email to provide the instant delivery of messages an eliminate paper?
