Thermal sensors

Hi, i have a academic project that consist to build a automatic anti-incendiary turret.

i am looking for a thermal sensor that can detect high temperature, i dont much care about FOV and anbient temperature. But the range, alots. I can seem to find something that can exceed 200cm. do you have any suggestion ? thank you!

Define "high"
(Melting ice is around 273K)

And define "range, alots"

If "anti-incendary" means "flame detection followed by fire suppression," then try searching on uv/ir flame detector.

Would 61 meters be enough? US$3000.

How about a PIR sensor? Range is easily > 200cm with the necessary signal conditioning.

If your goal is to be able to sense an incoming "hot" device and shoot at it I would think you would need an FLIR "camera" sensor.

You should, because single-element sensors report the average temperature of the FOV.

How fast is this thing moving and what direction from the sensor's point of view?

You will also need Nomex underware
