Actually, look at janost's posting history, I think is complaint is more along the lines of there not being widespread enthusiasm for the non-Arduino, not open source, projects he has posted in the exhibition/gallery section. I dunno; most of the discussions that I read through seemed pretty reasonable; he kept saying things like "I guess since this isn't arduino I can't post here", but I didn't see any requests from other posters or moderators along those lines (of course, if he had had posts completely removed, I wouldn't see them.) The biggest challenges appeared completely technical: "my 40MHz ARM does audio synthesis that wouldn't be possible on an Arduino/AVR"/"I dunno. This avr program over here is pretty impressive"...
(mostly interesting discussions, and with posts of interesting "bits" of code from both sides. But ... audio synthesis ... not my thing, and since it IS on the edge of what you you can do with an Arduino, it doesn't seem likely that there would be a lot of fans here.)
