Timer/Counter

Hi envery one, i have some question, hope all would help me:

i am using arduino Uno r3 and GLCD 12864 8 bit CHIP ST7920.
how can i change prescaller or control the time display bits on GLCD more slowly.
i get some information, default frequency of arduino Uno is 16MHz, prescaller is 64, arduino Uno has 3 timer/ counter,is timer/ counter0 8 bits, timer/ counter1 16 bits,timer/ counter2 8 bits.
so which timer/counter should i use, and how to use it for accelerating time display of bit on lcd?

Thanks all very much for the help.
have a nice day.

Surely you only want to update the display when the value displayed changes

The following diagram may be helpful to get better idea on the TCX (Timer/Counter-0,1,2) clock pre-scaling scheme of the ATmega328P.

i'm very happy now, i know how to using interrupt and how to set time for display.
thank all so much.
