I recently bought a tinker kit lcd module and I would like to know how to wire it up SERIALY. Thank you.
Perhaps you could give us some information about the tinker kit and not just assume that everyone knows what it is.
Assuming it is this one then it incorporates a Leonardo 32u4 and hence you probably need to program the module with a serial sketch via the Arduino IDE.
I assume that you wish to link it to a PC and send characters to it? In this case the serial link is via the USB cable from the PC to the LCD module.
Unfortunately the Tinkerkit website is down at the moment...
Did it come with a manual or any instructions?
What are you hoping to achieve?
http://tinkerkit.tihhs.nl/index.html I used to use the wayback machine but its incomplete. I just found this a full tinkerkit website with all the pictures. enjoy.
You actually have to go to the 2 wire i2c tutorial to see the pinout of serial though Derp its not in the serial tutorial go figure. like so many problems with tinkerkit it was a great Idea and supported by arduino and radioshack they were not good at support or tutorials etc. so they failed. http://tinkerkit.tihhs.nl/lcd-arduino-two-wires-tutorial/index.html
This display is pretty cool you can get them for 5-6 bucks shipped and they originally sold at radioshack for 50 bucks. Its a Leonardo and a display built in.
I CANNOT RECOMMEND ENOUGH GOING TO EBAY AND BUYING ONE OF THESE FOR 5$ SHIPPED YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER DEAL ON ANYTHING EVER.

I can still get them for about 5-6 bucks they are listed buy it now free ship with best offers taken so it could be lower. Someday I will be mad I didn't buy like 20 of them.
