Hi try this link.
It does not give you a lot of info, in fact it doesn't present it in a logical fashion, but you should be able to dig out of it what you need.
Basically you

  • connect +5V to the + pin
  • connect gnd or neg to the -pin
  • the output will come out of the center pin

It is a bit ambiguous when it comes to describing its output.
This device will give an output around 2.5V with no magnetic field near it.
Output will go to 0V or up to 5V when a magnet north or south pole is bought close to it.
Elsewhere it states 0V for no magnetic field, but I think this is wrong.

thanks for the reply, but I would need some characteristic a little 'more specific of the hall effect sensor, such as:

Range is meaningless, it measures the magnetic field at the sensor, magnetic fields can have any range at all depending on how large the magnet. Its like asking what is the range
of a telescope - depends how bright the star is...

Having said that magnetic flux density drops as the third-power of distance from a magnet
in the limit, so range for practical magnets is always quite limited, but larger magnets will
do better. The ratio between distance from magnet and distance between its poles is key.

The sensitivity is quoted on that page as 1.3mV/gauss (13 volt/tesla). Tends to imply it
will max-out by +/-200mT. The strongest magnets go up to 1 to 2T right at the poles, dropping substantially as you move away.

There will be noise, and there is no data given for that, which is the limiting factor for
resolution in practice. Using low-pass filtering will reduce noise in an analog sensor
like this, note.

It won't be sensitive enough to use as a compass.
