Tinkerkit LCD no display standalone

So i have had the TKLCD for a while and it worked in the past when i used it by itself. But now i tried to load the Hello World example or anything for that matter the RX light will blink then the S light will start flashing and then nothing. No display, no backlight. Just nothing i can’t think of anything else. I don’t want to hook it up to my arduino UNO because i wan’t to save my arduino uno for less permanent projects.

Here is the example i am trying to upload.

/**
* Simple Hello World program. To be run on an Arduino connected
* to a TinkerKit LCD module via Serial.
*/

#include <Wire.h>
#include <LiquidCrystal.h>
#include <TKLCD.h>

//TKLCD_Serial lcd = TKLCD_Serial(); // when connecting to TKLCD over Serial
TKLCD_Local lcd = TKLCD_Local(); // when programming a TKLCD module itself

void setup() {
  lcd.begin();

  lcd.clear();

  lcd.print("Hello World!");
}

void loop() {
   // nothing do be done
}

Okay, okay so i have determined it to be on the computer side. Because I was able to upload no problem on another PC. But i would like to use this PC for this project. So one thing i noticed is it freezes on Uploading and the progress bar disappears with it still displaying Uploading.

Check your anitvirus.

Thanks, i will try that when i get home i am at work right now.

Windows 10? It's a bit of a pain to get the driver working right.
