And I don't like it when people address me on the forum with "bro", "mate", "friend" etc. But I guess I have to accept it.

To me sir is a bit overdone, but at least someone is trying to be polite.
Bro is not really impolite, but it is just not adequate to name someone bro if you do not really know that person at all...

I thought a dude was a surf hunk that wakes up with a terrible headache after a party and tries to figure out why there is a lion in the appartment.
Anyway, I think I am too old to be a dude and also I do not think it is appropriate to name a random helper 'dude' on a forum like this... but that is just me...
