Hi I was having problems with the Love O Meter starter project and someone mentioned the readings may be incorrect due to using the BC547 pin and sure enough I was. But where on earth is the TMP 36 pin located in the starter kit? I can't find it anywhere. I have 5 BC547 pins but can't find the TMP 36 one.
Please help, thanks.
DONT use the BC547 transistors to try read temperature.
Quite often you may need a magnifying glass and good light to read markings on the body of the sensor.
It does look like a transistor but it isnt !
Thanks, so now I know I was using the wrong component. But how do I find the TMP sensor? Where is it located in the pack? I can't seem to find it anywhere and think it may be missing...is this likely?
Thanks again
Most of us don't have starter kits You will need to inspect every three-pin device that looks like a BC547.
According to Arduino StarterKit you do not have BC547s in the kit. So which kit do you have?
That's really strange - it definitely does have them included. I have 5 of them, but no temperature sensor...
Would you post the link to where you got it please as it may save some confusion.
Lots of Chineses kits include things others dont and some sellers just make up seemingly random kits.
So I got it off Amazon, I'm sure its official with the book and everything, doesn't look fake but I just can't seem to find the TMP36 anywhere...
Here is the link:
Thanks again
It looks legit.
Its from the .org site and that kit includes the BC's.
Lay out all the parts that look like transistors and you should have 6 not counting the mofsets (the bigger ones)
Examine each one very carefully under good light with a magnifying glass looking at the flat face and turning it slightly in the light.
One of them will have different lettering and thats the one you want.
If you dont have 5 similar or all 6 are BC'c then you would need to contact your supplier.
