Tone() function in Due

Does someone know when the tone function will be implemented in arduino Due?

I've been using Dues extensively for a few years now and I never noticed it was missing. I guess the answer is "never". It's just not that useful in most projects.

What specifically were you trying to do? Perhaps there's another way to accomplish what you want.

Never I suspect.

There is the NewTone library which does much the same thing on a DUE.

However there does appear to be a problem with the timers or similar and this can result in inconsistent and varying frequencies for a tone, so they can sound really bad.

See here for a description of the problem;

i have a Mega 2560, my friend gave me the due, he had 2 of them and wanted to give me one. I tried to burn in a sketch of a piano keyboard which plays different musical notes. I used the tone function and for the mega it worked just fine, but with the due the sketch gave me errors.

I guess i'll stick with the mega hahaha
