First of all did anyone else tried to figure out a comm protocol between outdoor and indoor units.
For now i know that is some kind of serial protocol. Fom service manual i know what data is sent from one to another but cannot figure out the protocol.
Is anybody willing to help?I am adding a few info picture for now, later i will add pictures of rx and tx signals that are taken with logic analyser on indoor unit on MCU legs.
I might be wrong but i do not think all of the units have the same protocol. Have you contacted Toshiba, they have a technical support staff that might help you. Before you go that route spend some time with google or your favorite search engine. I used "toshiba AC protocol" and found several both hardwired and IR on my first try. There was even an arduino project. Not knowing what unit you have I could not pick the correct one or pass on the link.
Already did IR protocol and everything else, I am working with Toshiba and i can tell you there is no way they will give you any information about their comm protocol since it is a company secret so to speak. The same thing would be from let say Hyundai to give you information about how to enable on CCS plug to pull power from battery(never going to happen), so there is only for guys like us ti figure it out.
So about toshiba, I know that communication protocol for HVAC is all the same except there is some data changed when using mixed equipment, for example, you can't connect 8kw outdoor unit to 3,5kw indoor unit since you will get mismatched capacity error, but that can be fixed.
