Total noobie here!

Hello everybody! I just wanted to introduce myself and I didn't see a spot on the forum dedicated to intros (if there is I'm sorry I am usually using xenforo style forums and I'm even a moderator on one of them)

I have a saltwater reef tank and an HO scale model railroad in my basement that I will be using Arduino projects to control and automate! I've already built and use a DCC++ EX to control my layout and build 1-2 small projects (program a server and a stepper motor for roundhouse) and I am in the process of building a simple 3 headed dosing pump. Once I work the kinks out of the simple dosing pump I plan to build 3 more dosing pump set ups to do some fancier things!

I pre-apologize about asking several questions and look forward to learning as much as I can! Check out my youtube channel for some cool videos about my layout and tank! https://www.youtube.com/@davem1956PRR

What is your question?

I moved to a town with a RR club with hard wired DCC HO. I am thinking of joining as I have a 3D printer and electronics skills that might be of value. Cajn you suggest any resource material that tells me what specifically I can do with my skills to make a contribution to the club? BTW, would love to see a picture of your total layout.

I was pre-apologizing for all the future questions lol. I only had one about using an RTC with I2C screen that I posted elsewhere

@sonofcy I don't know about helping out at local club but I'd suggest just showing up and letting them know what you can do!

I don't have a picture of whole layout but you can check out my YT channel https://youtube.com/@davem1956prr?si=oY1_STm24FEcO20Z and my layout build thread here - And so it begins... My 1956 PRR mainline HO build thread... | Model Train Forum. Be forwarded it's at 121 total pages currently and also includes a lot about my reef tank build as well!

Join the MRH forum, it's the best MR related place to ask your questions. While there are many model railroaders here, there is limited MR focus, and that's usually centered around Arduino applications.
