I bought the impression sensor from adafruit and it works so well. But I would need to have the touch area a little bigger. I would need the large touch area about 3 cm x 3 cm (about 2inches). Is it possible to find e this type of hardware?

Yeah you can find such hardware and its called new bigger Capacitive Touch Sensor. It will be a little costly than what you already have.

A Google search on that term doesn't give a result. So please do your homework and link to the actual sensor you are referring to.
