Touch Board works Arduino, no com port data in any other programs

My touch board is all set up as described on the getting started sheet in Windows 10. I've got the readings putting out in Arduino's serial monitor, but whenever I try to get the com port working in either Widget Designer or Max 8, I get no data through at all.

Drivers are installed and recognized in device manager as 'Touch Board'.

Any ideas?
