Want I want is a basic radio that has a frequency controlled via touchscreen. I would like it to look like an old school style radio (because that what it is going in) where you are able to move the needle with your finger.
So that seems like a lot of coding from scratch. Something like this or close to it has to have been done before and would save me a lot of time and trial and error. Does anyone have a link to a project similar to what I am describing here?
I would like to get a solid plan of attack before my parts get here.
I ordered this...
SainSmart Mega2560

And This..
TEA5767 FM Stereo Radio Module for Arduino 76-108MHZ With Free Cable Antenna
For what I described above.
I also ordered this..
5V 8 Channel Relay Module Board for Arduino PIC AVR MCU DSP ARM Replay Module

Because I want to be able to switch between 4 audio sources into my pre-amp. Radio, Turntable, Aux, and Bluetooth.
My concern here is that that LCD touchscreen is eating up all of my pins and limiting my ability to do anything or much else. Is that a valid concern? What is the work around?
I have to wait on most of this stuff to get here from freakin China so I want to order all that I need as soon as possible so Im not in the middle of this waiting on parts.
I didn't get a response on my last posting b/c I think it was too general of a question. I got pretty specific here.
Is what I want to do feasible? Has it been done before?
Know that I have spent hours tonight reading the programming guides on this site and I am thinking of spending an extra $100 on a Radio Shack Arduino kit just so I can get the coding down before my project parts get here.
I used to win state and national programming contest in high school and while that was 14 years ago I am confident I have a better start than most on understanding this and accomplishing my goal here. So you can talk to me in somewhat technical terms.
