Touchscreen new interaction

Hello,

For an interaction I designed, I going to use Arduino for the first time. The interaction is setting the amount by sliding your finger up or down on some sort of a pad (so on a (invisible) scale), following by pressing it with your finger so it activates the actuator.

Does anyone know what sensor I can use for this? I hope this doesn't have to be too complicated.

Sounds like what you are looking for, they even have examples and tutorials on how to use it.
