Tracking an object with Arduino and servo

Hi, I'm new to Arduino and I started because I had the idea of making an arm to help out in my workstation

So my goal is as follows: I got a servo motor that I want to move according to the position of a ring I wear, said ring if needed can be modified to host something, what I'm looking for to do this is not a camera module as I believe it would take too much processing power for the board, is there a module to do the tracking? Can anyone redirect me to a tutorial or a simple guide to follow along?

I did look it up but all I found was camera modules, I was looking for something or some idea to track the said ring so that when voice activated it would look for the ring

Is there any way to track an object? I've been looking into this this past week and haven't found anything...

Probably because it is not in the hobby realm. I know of nothing.
