Tracking an RC AirPlane+Arduino UNO+?

Hi there I was wondering something...

I want to make a project like an tracking system. Therefore I found some projects that might be helpful but they are not what i am looking for ...

I have an Arduino UNO rev.3 and I want to acquire the coordinates and send that data over a 3G network, with the purpose of tracking that device (and RC airplane)?

Is it possible that to do that ? and what kind of shield do you recommend me? :?: :?: :?

Hi,

Do you mean the GPS location of the plane? And will the Arduino and shields be payload on the plane, or elsewhere?

I know the weight can be a killer but I know my plane should be able to handle around 2,5 pounds that additional weight without making it a nightmare to fly.

And yes… that´s what i meant, I want to use GPS on a Plane
