Trash can level project, UNO and Kinect for Windows

Hello everyone in forum,

After long suffering of discovering ideas for my final project, I come into one very interesting devices, that is TRASH CAN LEVEL

I would like to make it for my final project in my university, I would like to use UNO and Kinect.

I never touch with Kinect, and also have no xbox.
So, I wonder is it possible to make it using UNO and Kinect?

Sure, I should buy UNO and Kinect,
Then, where should I start next? :grin:
Any help/reference/suggestion about this?

That trash can? Seems simple enough -- a few lines of code should do it...

Hooking Kinect to an UNO??? -- probably even easier.

There have been a number of projects connecting a Kinect to an Arduino, but you can't do it directly. They all use a PC to interpret the Kinect output and drive the Arduino.

it's difficult to buy kinect in indonesia, do you have any reference I could buy it?
I hope not so far from indonesia, because the shipping cost is very high. :grin:
