TRIAC and SSR

Hi,
I have been reading the following post:

I have to command a couple of vaccuum motors about 230V 0.5A to 1A.
Do you recommend using SSR or going directly with something like that:
http://powerswitchtail.com/PSTIIU.aspx
The nice packaging and the professional engineered circuit would avoid some stress to me.

What do you recommend?

The "switchtail" would certainly make everything simpler, and the cost is certainly reasonable, the only real reason NOT to use it would be for the experience/satisfaction of implementin an SSR (or EM realay) yourself.

I will start with a couple of "switchtail" and then maybe tweak it with SSR.
