Triggering MP3 Player to Play

Hi there,

I have an MP3 player that I need to play a track when activated by a micro switch (see attached photos). I soldered a lead either side of the MP3 button switch and connected it to my roller activated remote (400mm away) micro switch. When I tested the set up, the MP3 player would play when the remote micro switch was quickly depressed and released but if the remote micro switch was held down and the circuit maintained the MP3 player would not play. Given the remote switch activation I need the MP3 player to run when the remote micro switch circuit is maintained

The problem is that the button switch on the MP3 player is activated by a momentary press and release of that button. I need a way of my remote micro switch to simulate this momentary signal, maybe through a relay or similar set up.

Any assistance you could provide me to achieve this result would be gratefully received,

Thanks in advance

Chief

Use a small relay to close the contacts for you. Then you can control how long of a press is applied.

Many thanks Crossroads,
