What you are SUPPOSED to do:
Connect your AVRips MKii equivalent to the PC.
Put your blank ATmega328P chip in the Arduino UNO.
Connect the six-pin cable from the AVRisp to the six-pin header on the right end of the Arduino UNO, making sure Pin 1 is aligned.
Select Tools->Programmers->AVRisp MKII
Select Tools->Boards->Arduino UNO
Select Tols->Burn Bootloader
Does it work when you do that? If not, what error do you get?
