Trouble Uploading with USB-C adapter

Hello,

I am having issues uploading my code to my board on my new laptop. My now laptop is a Dell Precision 5550 and it only has 3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C with Thunderbolt ports. I'm using the included Type-C to Type-A/HDMI adapter. The PC can find the board through the correct COM port but when I got to upload, the upload process gets stuck when the progress bar is mostly filled. The board reboots and doesn't accept the code. I've tried it with a friends computer and it works with no issue.

I am using a Digital Loggers PLDuino - ATmega2560 + ESP8266 with the correct drivers from GitHub (it's the same set up that my friend is using minus the type-C adapter).

Any help would be useful, I'm hoping I'm just missing something obvious.

Thanks!

Try putting it into a USB hub. I have heard some people say it doesn't support 3.2 USB ports
try (if you have one) using a USB 2.0 port. Or a USB hub.
