Trouble with Seeed Studio Motor Shield

I just picked up a seeed studio motor shield form radio shack to use on my arduino uno. I stacked it on top and plugged in one dc motor that came with my arduino kit. Uploaded the following code:

#include "MotorDriver.h"

void setup()
{
	/*Configure the motor A to control the wheel at the left side.*/
	/*Configure the motor B to control the wheel at the right side.*/
	motordriver.init();
	motordriver.setSpeed(280,MOTORA);
}

void loop()
{
	motordriver.goForward();
	delay(2000);
	motordriver.stop();
	delay(1000);
	motordriver.goBackward();
	delay(2000);
	motordriver.stop();
	delay(1000);
	motordriver.goLeft();
	delay(2000);
	motordriver.stop();
	delay(1000);
	motordriver.goRight();
	delay(2000);
	motordriver.stop();
	delay(1000);

}

It compiled however, my motor is not moving. I hear the motor buzzing with slight vibrations; something tells me it code just need more power. To test the motor, I plugged it straight to a "AA" battery and it worked. I plugged in the "AA" battery into the shield, but nothing happened. Any ideas. Here is the link to the shield I am using: RadioShack.com Official Site - America's Technology Store

I am thinking maybe it’s my code. I am going to check out the code found here: http://www.instructables.com/answers/how-do-you-program-a-arduino-motor-shield/

255 is the max speed
