Troubles with combining codes

Heya peeps!

Currently, I’m working on a music box project. I’m using the touchboard from bare conductive along with an LED Stripe.
Basically, Im using the touchboard for the music element. when someone touches one of the sensors, the music changes. simple.

But then, I want to implement a lighting system alongside it. So the main idea is that the LEDs would react to the beat of the music. I havent gotten this to work without processing, so im scrapping this idea (unless you peeps have a solution!)

So now im just trying to get the LEDs to light up in random colours as the song plays.

  • The second piece of code has comments that seem to say the original programmer doesn't know how it works. If he doesn't know then don't expect to learn from him. Start from a base that is explainable by the original author.
  • The second piece of code uses delay() so you need to replace that first.

The Arduino is a poor choice for this project. Look at the MP3 code. It just starts and stops the music. It doesn't know when the beats are.
