Trying to upload data to mySQl using ESP32

I am trying to upload data to mySQL database using an ESP32. The code for posting the data is pretty standard and I have searched for different ways of doing this, but this seems to be the most common way using ESP32. However when trying to post the data I get "Error code: -1".

I have absolutely no idea what this means and how I can fix it. I've tried searching on the web, but have not found anything. Any idea on what is causing this issue and how I can fix it? I'll post the code below.

Are you sure your endpoint is working properly? If you hit your endpoint with another HTTP client what happens?

By "hit endpoint" with another HTTP client what exactly do you mean? Sorry I'm new to doing this kind of stuff

What he is trying to say is open a web-browser, copy the URL and see if you can hit the site with the web browser.

Yes, a web browser is a good HTTP client to test an endpoint (URI) using a GET request. Because you are making an HTTP POST request, you might want to try an HTTP client like Advanced REST Client; it's got a lot of options and shows you any information about the request and response.

To make a POST request with a web browser you will need to have an extension or write an HTML form. Not that this is difficult, it is just more convenient to use a diagnostic tool like Advanced REST Client.
